AN ANALYSIS OF MULTIMODAL DISCOURSE ANALYSIS TOWARDS ENGLISH TEXTBOOK USED BY STUDENTS AT SCHOOL

چکیده

Communication in learning can be assisted by the use of teaching materials, one which is a multimodal approach. This line with principle streamline communication, so that meaning conveyed will more easily understood due to various modals support existing meaning. Based on this, study was conducted aim knowing multimodality an English book material for elementary schools. Multimodality materials considered important analyze because it affect process. The research design researchers qualitative source data this school textbooks. instrument used indicator through linguistic metafunctions and intersemiosis collection technique documentation content analysis methodology. results show findings indicators intersemiosis. From metafunction, shows linguistic, visual, gesture, spatial modality as much 23.73% audio mode 5.08%. from found ideational 29.73%, interpersonal 37.84%, textual 33.43%. These indicate conclusion students' books cannot yet called materials. implications are reference teachers develop media updating student books, add repertoire studies Indonesia.
